Kehinde Wiley

Wiley's paintings use classical posses to make a statement about power and status in his work while at the same time making contemporary social commentary by his choice of subject matter which is often Hip Hop artists, and strangers he met on the street.

Prince Tommaso Francesco of Savoy - Carignano 2006

I first saw Wiley's paintings in Art News and then on the Brooklyn Museum blog.

I just adore your blog. I would have never discovered Suzanne Mooney (and I'm equally in love with Rafael Sottolichio's work)
